Churches, Prayer, Multimedia

At TEAR, we long for the new tomorrow we read about in Scripture. A tomorrow of hope, justice and peace. Watch this short video that captures this hopeful and faithful dream and longing for God’s new tomorrow. It features Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christian leaders Uncle Ray Minniecon, Grant Paulson and Safina Stewart.

Augustine said: Hope has two beautiful daughters – anger and courage. Anger to not be complacent about the situation that confronts you. And the courage to face that situation and change it for the better. You have to have both those two beautiful daughters in operation to have some kind of hope for the future...If there was an institution that could give us the best opportunity for a future, it’s the church.

Pray

Creator, Counsellor and Healer, Thank you for the vision to stand up and speak out. We pray, Lord, for your constant guidance and direction as we walk for and towards your Kingdom – your tomorrow. Father, grant us courage and wisdom as we the body of Christ accept and fulfil the responsibilities you have given us and let this lead us into your tomorrow.
On earth as it is in heaven.
Amen

– Prayer by Aunty Sharyn Malone, from Bir’a Women, Dhiiyaan Northside Church, Brisbane. From 2015 to 2016, Bir’a Women was a partner with TEAR’s Aboriginal and Torres strait islander program, providing support for Indigenous women who have experienced abuse.
